NVE Bank Gives Back: Donates $3,000 to Financial Literacy Program

NVE Bank Gives Back: NVE Bank, one of New Jersey’s oldest and strongest community mutual banks has made a $3,000 donation to fund a Money Management 4 Kids financial literacy program for students attending the non-profit Bergen Family Center’s after school enrichment program at the Dr. John Grieco Elementary School in Englewood.    The 8-week program, run by Bergen County based iPiggiBank teaches students the fundamentals of money management through an interactive curriculum taught by a certified teacher that uses art, writing, literacy and play to reinforce healthy financial habits.

“As a community mutual bank, we place a strong emphasis on social responsibility” said Robert Rey, President and CEO of the Englewood based NVE.  “We’ve been in the community for 131 years, are deeply connected to the citizens of Bergen County and dedicated to making a difference where we can.  When we became aware of Bergen Family Center’s desire to launch a financial literacy program for kids, we embraced the opportunity to become involved.  It’s a perfect fit for NVE”.

“Like NVE, Bergen Family Center has been serving the community for over 100 years and is Bergen County’s oldest family service agency” said Mitch Schonfeld, President and CEO.  “We’re dedicated to the development of our local youth and committed to ensuring that they are equipped to deal with the challenges of tomorrow.  iPiggiBank’s curriculum is an excellent way to introduce our kids to the basics of money management and we are grateful to NVE for their support.”
