Spring Pickleball Clinics for Kids in Fair Lawn: April 14-June 11
Pickleball is an exciting sport that combines fitness and fun. These spring pickleball clinics for kids at Montclair Pickleball in Fair Lawn are designed for children ages 6-13, who are eager to pick up a new sport or enhance their pickleball skills. It’s a fantastic way for kids to engage in a social and healthy activity that promotes teamwork and physical well-being. The camps are run by coaches who are fun, experienced, and high-level players.

Spring Forest Fables at Flat Rock Brook Nature Center in Englewood: Tuesdays, April 15 Through May 20
Enjoy the wonders of nature with your toddler at Flat Rock Brook’s weekly program! Perfect for kids ages 2-5, each session features a different theme with fun lessons, games, crafts, hikes, and live animals. Weather permitting, part of the class will be held outdoors, so dress accordingly. Classes run Tuesday mornings, 10:30-11:30 AM, at the Nature Center. Party for the Planet at Bergen County Zoo: April 26 and April 27
Celebrate Earth Day at the Bergen County Zoo’s 17th Annual Party for the Planet! The event takes place on Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27, 10:00 am-4:00 pm.
This two-day event features engaging, family-friendly fun focused on conservation and environmental awareness. Throughout the zoo, you’ll find a variety of educational tables and activities featuring interactive exhibits, local conservation efforts, and ways you can help protect the planet.

Saturday, April 26 will spotlight local conservation groups and the work they’re doing right here in our community.

Sunday, April 27 will focus on the Bergen County Zoo’s own conservation initiatives, from in-zoo programs to global projects we support around the world.

Daffodil Festival and Earth Day Fair in Ridgewood: Sunday, April 27, 11:00 am-2:30 pm
Bring the whole family—and your dog—for a fun and educational day in the park! Ridgewood’s annual Daffodil Festival and Earth Day celebration will take place on Sunday, April 27, from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm in Memorial Park at Van Neste Square in Ridgewood.
The event features a full lineup of family-friendly activities, including a petting zoo, live music, crafts, demonstrations, and educational displays. You’ll also find vendors offering products and services focused on sustainability and natural living.
A highlight of the day is the always-popular Daffy Dog Parade at 12:30 pm. Leashed dogs and their owners are encouraged to come in costume and join the fun. Parade registration begins at noon at the Ridgewood Veterinary Hospital booth.
This year’s theme, “H2O Optimize: Protecting Our Water,” reflects the issues
being addressed by the Village of Ridgewood through local government involvement and volunteer committees, programs and projects. These issues include: conservation, water quality and flood mitigation.
The event is sponsored by the Village of Ridgewood Department of Parks, Conservancy for Ridgewood Public Lands, and Green Ridgewood and promises a great day of community engagement, learning, and springtime fun. Abma’s Farm in Wyckoff is hosting DIY Mother’s Day Gift Workshops on Monday, May 5, and Tuesday, May 6. The workshops, taking place at 12:00 pm, 3:30 pm, and 4:30 pm, give kids the chance to plant a flower or greenery in a fun minibus planter and create a handmade card.
The 30-minute workshop takes place in Abma’s greenhouse, with help from Abma’s team. It’s a simple, meaningful way to make a heartfelt gift for Mom, Grandma, or anyone else your child wants to celebrate.

Spring Has Sprung Children’s Gardening Event at Stew Leonard’s in Paramus: Wednesday, May 14, 2:00 pm-4:00 pm
Children ages 2 and up are invited to celebrate spring at Stew Leonard’s Spring Has Sprung Gardening Event. Kids will enjoy a fun, hands-on gardening experience creating small, living masterpieces. Each child will receive one plastic pot to decorate with an assortment of embellishments. Then, they choose one plant from a pre-chosen selection to plant in the pot.
All materials will be provided, including decorative supplies, pots, plants, potting soil, and trowels. Bring your own gloves or smocks if you’d like.

Open Cockpit Day at the Aviation Hall of Fame and Museum in Teterboro: Saturday, May 24, 10:30 am-4:00 pm
This popular event at the Aviation Hall of Fame gives visitors the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of a very rare Lockheed Bushmaster plane, a U.S. Coast Guard Rescue Helicopter, and a M*A*S*H Bell 47 helicopter made famous during the Korean War; and see the cabin and cockpit of the world’s only surviving Martin 202A Airliner.
The event also includes displays featuring a Bell AH-1 Cobra helicopter, an
OV-1A Mohawk Observation/Attack Aircraft, a General Aviation Trainer (G.A.T-1) and a
Glider.
Young astronauts won’t want to miss the working display of the International Space Station (ISS) with uniforms and items used by many astronauts like Buzz Aldrin and Scott and Mark Kelly, just to name a few.
