Creekside Adventures Storytime at Teaneck Creek: June 23-July 28
The Teaneck Public Library and Teaneck Creek Conservancy invite families to enjoy a series of nature-themed storytimes, adventures, and fun activities this summer. The program includes six sessions. Sign up for one or all six. These outdoor classes are best suited for children ages 4 and up, accompanied by a caregiver.
Wear weather-appropriate clothing and shoes – trails may be muddy. If the group explores the creek, water shoes or boots are recommended. Insect repellent and sunscreen are suggested as well.
Additional program dates: June 30, July 7, July 14, July 21, and July 28. The program is held from 4:00 pm-5:00 pm.

Summer Pickleball Clinics for Kids in Fair Lawn: June 30-August 27
Pickleball is an exciting sport that combines fitness and fun. These summer pickleball clinics for kids at Montclair Pickleball in Fair Lawn are designed for children who are eager to pick up a new sport or enhance their pickleball skills. It’s a fantastic way for kids to engage in a social and healthy activity that promotes teamwork and physical well-being. The clinics are run by coaches who are fun, experienced, and high-level players.

Here’s a fun summer activity to enjoy with your little ones! Perfect for children aged 18 months to 3.5 years and their grownups, this nature program at Lorrimer Sanctuary includes storytelling, outdoor adventures, learning, and fun. These summer programs are hands-on and children will get dirty and/or wet.
Additional program dates: July 17, July 24, August 7, August 14, and August 21. The program runs from 3:00 pm-3:45 pm.

Candy Twisted Balloon Show at Bergen Town Center: Saturday, July 12, at 11:00 am and 12:30 pm
Kids are in for a treat at Bergen Town Center with the Candy Twisted Balloon Show! This event mixes laugh-out-loud comedy, magic tricks, and audience participation. It’s a fun way to spend a summer Saturday.
There are two shows at 11:00 am and 12:30 pm. Shows take place at Center Court outside Children’s Play Area, Bergen Town Center, Route 4 East and Forest Avenue in Paramus, New Jersey. Find more information here.
Nature Story Time at Tenafly Nature Center: Saturday, July 19, at 10:00 am
With the Nature Story Time program at Tenafly Nature Center, families with children ages 3-7 enjoy fun and educational nature-themed stories and a visit from one of Tenafly Nature Center’s Animal Ambassadors.
Learn all about the visiting animal and how they came to the Tenafly Nature Center. Animal Ambassadors can include snakes, frogs, turtles, owls, or even a hawk! New stories and animals are introduced monthly.

Butterfly Day at DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst: Sunday, July 20, 10:00 am-3:00 pm
Butterfly Day is back! Hosted by the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority and the Bergen County Audubon Society, this popular family-friendly event celebrates the beauty and importance of butterfly species.
Highlights include a butterfly costume contest and plenty of kids’ games, crafts and giveaways. Enjoy nature walks, educational talks, presentations, and information tables. Plus, you’ll learn how to attract butterflies to your own backyard!
Butterfly Day takes place at DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst on Sunday, July 20, from 10:00 am-3:00 pm. Rain date is July 27. Find more information here.
Shrek The Musical at Bergen Performing Arts Center: July 31-August 3
This summer, Shrek and his crew are taking over the stage at the Bergen Performing Arts Center. The hit Broadway show, packed with laughs, music, and plenty of heart, will be performed on July 31, August 2, and August 3.
Featuring all the beloved characters, including the grumpy green ogre, his talkative sidekick Donkey, a fire-breathing dragon, and a no-nonsense princess, this lively production brings the fairytale to life in a way that’s perfect for all ages.
