JDK Social Station: Enhancing Children’s Social and Living Skills
JDK Social Station in Secaucus, New Jersey, is a specialized multi-sensory teaching facility that enhances the learning, social, and interactive skills of children with social deficits and other related issues. Programs are individualized for each child to reach their maximum potential. Emphasis is placed on teaching children to develop self-confidence, play skills, social skills, and problem-solving techniques. JDK’s inclusion program welcomes children ages 3 to 15 years of age. JDK Social Station offers classes, summer camps, and special programs.
JDK Social Station offers weekly social skills classes and weekly music and movement classes. These 10-week sessions are held in winter, spring, and fall. JDK also offers summer camps and private therapy and counseling as well as private sessions that focus on food exposure and toleration and haircut exposure and toleration.
Teachers at JDK Social Station are highly trained to offer personalized guidance, empowering families with the knowledge and strategies necessary to work towards their children’s specific goals. Individualized goals are addressed based on teacher observations, parent input, and IEPS/progress report goals, as well as daily or weekly reports.
JDK Social Station’s approach includes a variety of interactive methods such as Discuss-Demonstrate-Do, structured lessons, and problem-solving techniques. They utilize video models, cooperative activities, peer modeling, role-playing, and more to reinforce these lessons, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.
Frosty Friends Social Skills Classes for Kids Ages 3-15
Foster your child’s social skills at JDK Social Station’s Frosty Friends Social Skills Classes beginning January 4, 2025. These 10-week sessions focus on individualized social skills for each student and include:
- Self regulation strategies
- Interactive games
- Age appropriate weekly social skills topics
- Peer play skills
- Art and music with fine motor skills integrated into sessions
- Friendship building activities
- Individualized goals addressed based on teacher observations, parent input, and IEPS/ progress report goals, etc.
- Weekly reports to families to ensure goals are worked on and generalized
- Individualized teacher feedback to families to educate them on how to work on the goals addressed

The 10-week Frosty Friends Social Skills classes take place on Saturdays from 11:00 am-12:30 pm beginning on January 4, 2025, and on Tuesdays from 4:00 pm-5:30 pm beginning on January 7, 2025.

Winter Music and Movement Classes for Kids Ages 3-11
The Winter Music and Movement Classes at JDK Social Station foster social development and music integration through:

- Drum sessions

The 10-week Winter Music and Movement Classes take place on Saturdays from 9:15 am-10:45 pm beginning on January 4, 2025 and on Tuesdays from 4:00 pm-5:30 pm beginning on January 7, 2025. Private Therapy/Counseling
JDK Social Station also offers tailored private therapy and counseling services with their ABA-trained therapists and skilled social workers to address individual needs and goals.
Haircut Exposure and Toleration Program
This program is designed to assist families who struggle with toleration issues surrounding haircuts by providing training to help increase tolerance and preparation. Haircut Exposure and Toleration Program offerings Include:
- Increased opportunities to practice various aspects, including toleration of capes, hair brushing, buzzers, and scissors
- Skilled therapists working under a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
- Positive reinforcement and shaping strategies
- Individualized sessions based on need
- Support at salon/barbershop available
Food Exposure and Toleration Therapy
Skilled therapists work with your child on trying new foods as well as increasing opportunities to practice skills surrounding meal times. Food Exposure and Toleration Therapy offerings include:
- Skilled therapists working under a Board Certified Behavior Analyst
- Positive reinforcement
- Parent training across multiple settings to ensure generalization
