The Founders of Montclair Pickleball
From Tennis to Pickleball: The Journey of Aaron Reznik and Matt Slowinski
Montclair Pickleball was founded by two young guys from Montclair, Aaron Reznik and Matt Slowinski. As childhood friends, they grew up together playing tennis at a high level and actually teaching the sport throughout high school. That led to the creation of First Serve Tennis, a tennis academy with locations at Montclair Beach Club in Clifton and Caldwell University in Caldwell that they still own and operate to this day. When Reznik and Slowinski discovered pickleball during their senior year of college, they fell in love with the sport. They set out to create Montclair Pickleball, which now boasts a staff of roughly twenty coaches at locations throughout New Jersey. Plus, their coaches are some of the best pickleball teachers (and players) in all of New Jersey– a recent article showed that five of the top eight pickleball players in New Jersey were also coaches for Montclair Pickleball.
