Bogota Library First Annual Mighty Read Event is June 22nd

Bogota Library Mighty Read

Bogota Library Mighty Read: Want to raise your child to be empathetic and emotionally intelligent? Encourage a lifelong pursuit of reading by sharing storybooks. Bogota Public Library will host its First Annual Mighty Read on Saturday, June 22, 2019 to do just that. Community neighbors, heroes and leaders will come together to read back-to-back stories to kids starting at 10:00 am.

“We want to celebrate mighty characters and the positive impact that stories have on childhood literacy,” said Chelsea Coleman, library director. “We hope that a feast of diverse storybooks each year will renew a community commitment to promoting literacy in our borough.”

The first 50 attendees will receive a book to take home.

At 11:00 am, following the Mighty Read, the library will kick off its annual summer reading initiative with Space! The Cosmos For Kids by Turtle Dance Music.

The summer reading theme this year is A Universe of Stories, with separate programs for kids, teens and adults. Grand prizes this year include a constellation globe for kids, a telescope for teens and an Amazon gift card for adults.
