The Drawer Boy at Ender Hall Lab Theatre in Paramus: February 27-March 7

The Bergen Institute for the Creative Arts and Bergenstages will present Michael Healey’s The Drawer Boy at the Ender Hall Lab Theatre in Paramus, February 27-March 7.
Directed by Thomas O’Neill, Ed.D., The Drawer Boy follows Miles, an idealistic and energetic young actor from Toronto who arrives at an isolated farmhouse in rural Ontario in 1972, setting the story in motion.
Miles hopes to move in with two middle-aged bachelor farmers, Morgan and Angus, to learn about their lives and draw inspiration for a play about country life. Morgan has cared for his longtime friend Angus since Angus suffered a head injury during World War II. As Miles spends more time with the two men, the nature of their extraordinary relationship comes to the surface.

Garden Club of Harrington Presents Getting Ready for Spring: Thursday, March 5, at 7:30 pm

The Garden Club of Harrington Park will hold its next meeting on Thursday, March 5, at 7:30 pm in Founders’ Hall at the Community Church of Harrington Park, located at 1 Spring Street.
Guest speaker and Master Gardener Christine Kozar will present Getting Ready for Spring, focusing on seasonal garden tasks that can be done now in preparation for warmer weather. Her presentation will cover winter-to-spring chores, along with practical tips for organizing garden routines and making the most of outdoor space.
Kozar, a retired middle school teacher, specializes in helping gardeners start or expand their gardens and has a particular interest in working with young people to explore gardening, the environment, and ecosystems.

Washington’s Birthday Celebration at Historic New Bridge Landing: Sunday, March 8, 1:00 pm-4:30 pm

Celebrate Washington’s birthday with the Bergen County Historical Society on Sunday, March 8, from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm at Historic New Bridge Landing.
The event features performances at 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm by the Tricorne Dance Ensemble celebrating General Washington through song and dance in the Steuben House with musical accompaniment by Ridley and Anne Enslow on the fiddle and hammered dulcimer.
Selections from the society’s Washington collection and artifacts from the Revolutionary War will be on display in the Steuben House.
The society’s Jersey Dutch out-kitchen interpreters will be preparing Cheshire pork pie, orange chess pie, and syllabub using 18th-century recipes.
Re-enactors from the 3rd New Jersey Regiment will demonstrate military life of the era.
Family-friendly activities include a Washington-themed scavenger hunt with a prize, and a QR Code History Challenge. Use your phone to scan QR codes throughout the site for video content and questions.
The gift shop will be open and seasonal refreshments will be available for purchase in the tavern.

The 2026 Bergen County St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held on Sunday, March 15th, kicking off at 2:00 pm at South Washington Avenue and West Englewood Avenue in Bergenfield, New Jersey. The parade will then make its way north along Washington Avenue ending at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church.
Don’t miss this annual opportunity to cheer on the long line of pipe bands, traditional Irish dance groups, Irish-owned businesses, community organizations, local police & fire departments, and, of course, politicians as they stride jauntily down Washington Avenue, basking in the celebratory cheers and good feelings coming from festive bystanders all along the parade route.
