Tiny Tots Program at Lorrimer Sanctuary: December 4-January 22, 10:00 am-10:45 am
Here’s a fun activity to enjoy with your little ones this winter! Perfect for children aged 18 months to 3.5 years and their grownups, this nature program at Lorrimer Sanctuary in Franklin Lakes includes story time, outside exploration, and learning about nature in age-appropriate ways. Note: The program is hands-on and children will get dirty and/or wet.

Teaneck Creek Conservancy Family Walk: January 24, 2:00 pm-3:00 pm
The Teaneck Creek Conservancy (TCC) is hosting a guided winter walk along Teaneck Creek, led by Donna Drake. The walk offers a chance to take in the sights and sounds of TCC in winter and to learn about what’s happening in nature this time of year.

Don’t miss Ice Age (2002) at the Barrymore Film Center in Fort Lee, New Jersey! You can catch Ice Age at the Barrymore on Saturday, January 24, and on Sunday, January 25, at 10:00 am.

From Sap to Syrup at Tenafly Nature Center: Sunday, January 25, 11:30 am and 1:00 pm
Find out how sap becomes syrup and which local trees can be tapped for their own unique flavors at the Sap to Syrup event at Tenafly Nature Center.
This hands-on, family-friendly program takes participants outdoors to learn how sap flows through trees, how it’s collected, and how it’s turned into syrup. You’ll learn to identify local tree species and practice tapping with real tools starting with familiar maple trees before exploring other tap-worthy trees. You’ll also compare how sap from different trees varies in taste, sweetness, and seasonal flow.

Kids Indoor Winter Pickleball Clinics in Fair Lawn: January 26-April 5
Keep the kids active this winter with these indoor pickleball clinics! Pickleball is an exciting sport that combines fitness and fun. The clinics at Montclair Pickleball in Fair Lawn are designed for children who are eager to pick up a new sport or enhance their pickleball skills. It’s a fantastic way for kids to engage in a social and healthy activity that promotes teamwork and physical well-being. The clinics are run by coaches who are fun, experienced, and high-level players.
Winter pickleball clinics for kids ages 9-13 are offered in 10-week sessions. Sign up now!

It’s an easy, environmentally friendly craft that’s fun to make and even more fun to watch once the birds discover it outside your window. Planning for summer starts early, and parents looking for the right camp options can get everything they need in one stop at this free 2026 Camp Fair at Bergen Town Center.
The fair takes place on Saturday, January 31, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm in Center Court next to the Children’s Play Area and brings together a wide range of camps. Families will have the opportunity to speak directly with camp directors and learn about programs ranging from sports, arts, and STEM to adventure and travel experiences. Camps will also be on site hiring counselors, making it a great event for teens and young adults looking for summer jobs.

Chocolate Making Workshop at Wyckoff YMCA: Wednesday, February 11
Kids will have a chance to get creative while learning how to make a variety of chocolate treats, from truffles to chocolate-covered fruits. Kids will explore different techniques for melting, molding, and decorating chocolate, all while picking up hands-on skills along the way.
