Updated July 6, 2021! The much-anticipated opening of the new LEGOLAND New York Resort, a 150-acre theme park located in Goshen, New York, is scheduled to finally happen on July 9, 2021.
All summer long, LEGOLAND buzz has been building in Bergen County. We thought we would provide a preview of what attractions you can expect when this exciting new theme park/resort opens this week! Located about 30 miles from northern Bergen County, LEGOLAND New York is expected to be a major regional tourist attraction.
Themed “Lands”
LEGOLAND New York will feature multiple themed “lands” including Brick Street, Bricktopia, Miniland, LEGO City, LEGO Pirates, LEGO Castle, and LEGO Ninjago World. All seven lands will be open for business on July 9th! 50+ family-friendly rides and other attractions, as well as dining options and retail shopping, will be available throughout LEGOLAND New York’s themed lands.
The LEGO Hotel
The Park will feature a 250-room LEGOLAND Hotel designed with imaginative LEGO features and themed play areas throughout. The LEGOLAND Hotel will open on August 6, 2021.
LEGOLAND Hotel also offers the following features and amenities:
- Free breakfast daily
- Separate sleeping areas for kids in each of the Hotel’s 250 themed rooms. Room themes include – Pirate, Kingdom, LEGO Friends, or LEGO NINJAGO
- Daily in-room scavenger hunt with LEGO prizes
- Daily entertainment for kids
- Heated resort-style swimming pool
- The LEGOLAND Hotel is located steps away from LEGOLAND Theme Park

LEGOLAND New York Resort will introduce the LEGO Factory Adventure Ride featuring the world’s first use of on-ride tracking technology. By identifying the attributes of guests and mapping their position in the virtual space, this hi-tech ride transforms riders into LEGO Minifigures right before their own eyes! More details here.
The Dragon offers a twisting and turning good time for roller coaster lovers. Feel the breath of the dragon on your face as you chase the red wizard and his red dragon out of the castle and reclaim the staff! More details here.
Merlin’s Flying Machines provide a bird’s eye view of LEGOLAND New York as you “fly above the Kingdom” and actually help defend it! Merlin needs your strength to help power this flying contraption and test it out! See how high you can get the Wizard’s magical flying machines. More details here.

Retail Shopping at LEGOLAND New York
You can purchase souvenirs, LEGO toys, LEGOLAND New York merchandise, and much more in the many diverse shops found throughout the Resort.
The BIG Shop on Brick Street offers a wide selection of LEGO toys, including some you won’t find anywhere else. You can also pick up t-shirts and other Park souvenirs at the BIG Shop. More details here.
Remember, LEGOLAND New York is a big park (150+ acres), and you’ll likely be there for many hours. With this in mind, it’s good to know there is a Mini Market. This store on Brick Street can help with everything from strollers and wheelchairs to snacks and sundries. By the way, the Park offers a package pick-up service, so if you’ve shopped throughout the day, you can gather your packages at the Mini Market at the end of the day. More details here.
