Marc Zukovich to Present “How to Liven Up a Winter Landscape” at October 3rd Garden Club Meeting

Harrington Park Garden Club Events

Harrington Park Garden Club Events: The Garden Club of Harrington Park will welcome back guest speaker Marc E. Zukovich at its next meeting on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 7:30 pm upstairs in the Harrington Park Library, 10 Herring Street, Harrington Park, New Jersey.

Marc has previously presented programs on “Gardening with Deer”, “How to Design a Mixed Border”, and “Fall Trees and Shrubbery”.  At the Garden Club’s October meeting, Marc’s topic will be “The Winter Border”, showing how to create a delightful garden that will liven up a dreary winter landscape and discuss how to protect your plants from harsh winter conditions.  His slide presentation will exhibit plants that are of both winter and multiple season interest.

Marc has taught classes in horticulture since 1989 as an adjunct professor at County College of Morris, where he was recognized with the NISOD national award for teaching excellence.  He currently teaches community courses for the Adult School of the Chatham’s, Madison and Florham Park, and lectures to garden clubs and library programs throughout northern New Jersey.

Zukovich holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Botany from Drew University and certificates from Harvard Graduate School of Design and the New York Botanical Garden.  Before founding Sterling Horticultural Services in 1988, Marc was a District Manager for Brickman Industries.  Prior to that, he managed a 38-acre private estate in Alpine, New Jersey.  From 1988 to 2012, Marc managed the grounds of Honeywell Inc.’s World Headquarters, formerly AlliedSignal, in Morristown, and has provided exceptional landscape care to residential properties.

Marc also provides a ‘garden coaching’ and landscape consultation service to homeowners and contractors.

The program will be followed by a “Q&A” session and refreshments provided by the evening’s hostess Gerri Gibney.

The Garden Club welcomes all gardeners, active and armchair, from all towns, to their meetings and events.
