The first annual mybergen.com NJ Women’s Good Living Festival was held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 on the campus of Bergen Community College in Paramus.
Runners, walkers, families and friends enjoyed a great day that featured a women’s 5K run, a 3k walk and nearly 40 exhibitors offering interactive experiences ranging from early morning yoga courtesy of Kula for Karma, to massages for the ladies, to pottery making for the kids. Several of the area's leading restaurants were on hand with a mix of free food samples and special festival pricing for other dishes.
Comedienne and actress Katie Hayes, a finalist in the recent Gilda’s Club Comedy Laugh-Off, emceed two hours of live entertainment from the event stage which featured a fast-paced lineup of local and national talent. Entertainment highlights included an appearance by Emmy-winning actress Martha Byrne and a musical performance by 2010 VH1 reality star Jackie Madden. A pre-Father’s Day fashion show courtesy of Sal Lauretta for Men, musical performances by members of Full Circle Talent Group's Showbiz Bootcamp, Saint Joseph’s Regional High School Performing Arts Theatre Group, singer-songwriter Keith Bender, guest speakers and a healthy-living hula hoop demonstration rounded out a full schedule of entertainment.
