West Side Concert Series, Ridgewood: An Afternoon with Brahms will be presented at West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood on Sunday, February 10th at 3:00 pm as part of the West Side Concert Series. Noted local pianist Paul Van Ness will perform. He’ll be joined by colleagues Melissa Macy and Rachel Crozier (violin), Mitsuru Kubo Hunter (viola), SinHwa Lee (cello) and Apryl Helder (mezzo soprano) in a recital devoted to the music of Johannes Brahms.
The program will include the Violin Sonata No. 1 in G, Op. 78, (“Regensonate”), Two Songs for Piano, Viola and Contralto, and the Piano Quintet in F Minor, Op. 34.
Admission is free and parking is plentiful.
The 2018-2019 season marks the 43rd season of the West Side Concert Series. Throughout its long history, the series has presented a wide variety of solo, instrumental and ensemble concerts in the classical, African-American and jazz traditions.
