Zoo Boo at the Bergen County Zoo

Each October, the Bergen County Zoo in Paramus transforms into a Halloween hot spot with its annual Zoo Boo celebration. This family-friendly event is one of Bergen County’s most popular Halloween traditions, featuring activities designed especially for kids. With just the right balance of spooky fun and educational experiences, Zoo Boo offers an enjoyable day or evening out for the whole family. Be sure to come dressed in your Halloween finest!
When is Zoo Boo 2025?
Zoo Boo 2025 will takes place Friday, October 17 through Sunday, October 19, at the Bergen County Zoo, 216 Forest Avenue in Paramus, New Jersey:
- Friday, October 17: 6:00 pm-9:00 pm (Scary Train Ride) with a rain date of Friday, October 24.
- Saturday, October 18: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm (Friendly Train Ride) and 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm (Scary Train Ride) with a rain date of Saturday, October 25.
- Sunday, October 19: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm (Friendly Train Ride) with a rain date of Sunday, October 26.
Activities and Fun
Zoo Boo features a range of engaging activities, including trick-or-treating, Mad Science shows, and more, allowing children to learn and have fun at the same time. There will be train and carousel rides too. The day train is friendly with Halloween themed scenes, and the night train is haunted and has scary scenes with actors (recommended for older children and brave adults).
Ticket Information
Tickets are required for everyone aged 2 and up. Tickets must be purchased in advance and can be purchased online only. This event sells out fast, so get your tickets early! Note that refunds are not available. Children under 2 do not require a ticket. Tickets are organized by hourly time slots for Zoo admission.
When Do Tickets Go on Sale?
- Bergen County Zoo member pre-sale tickets are available now through September 28.
- General public tickets go on sale October 1, at 9:00 am.
There are three tickets involved with Zoo Boo:
- The Zoo Admission ticket is for the decorated zoo with trick-or-treat stations and shows.
- The Train Ticket is only for the train ride and is separate from the Zoo Admission ticket.
- The Carousel Ticket is only for the carousel and is separate from the Zoo Admission ticket. The carousel is family friendly.
Zoo Admission tickets are organized by hourly time slot. The train/ carousel do not have hourly time slots. Zoo Admission time slots are for your arrival time.
