Things to do in Bergen County!
In celebration of Pride Month, The David Drumgold Variety Show is back at Teaneck’s Puffin Cultural Forum for a special one-night-only Pride edition on Friday, June 21 at 7:00 pm. Inspired by classic variety shows like The Carol Burnett Show, The Flip Wilson Show, and The Cher Show, the evening features a mix of comedy, drag, dance, music, and old-school entertainment with a modern flair.
The lineup includes:
Yasuhiko Fukuoka, an acclaimed pianist and composer whose emotionally rich work has been featured everywhere from Lincoln Center to the Cannes Film Festival. Stephen Holden of The New York Times called him a “brilliant pianist” with a seamless blend of folk, classical, blues, and vaudeville.
Ruby Powers, dubbed New York City’s most joyful drag queen, is a former Miss Stonewall Inn Fan Favorite and has performed at venues like the Metropolitan Room, The Duplex, Urban Stages, and 54 Below/Feinstein’s. Her “LOVE, RUBY” series raises money for causes such as The Elton John AIDS Foundation and the ACLU.
Strawberry Fields, NYC’s “Ravishing Redhead,” is a Glam Award-nominated, live-singing impersonator who brings vintage glamour to American Songbook and Broadway favorites at venues across the city.
Diana Taylor, originally from Houston, Texas, moved to NYC in 1997. In 1998, she released her first single under “Priority Record Label,” becoming the #1 House/Dance artist signed to the label, alongside big names like Ice Cube, No Limit, and Snoop Dogg.
