Hibernation Happening at Tenafly Nature Center

Families with children ages 5 and up are invited to explore how local wildlife adapts to winter at Tenafly Nature Center’s Hibernation Happenings program. Learn how animals such as bears, groundhogs, chipmunks, and raccoons survive the cold months, and find out which species are true hibernators versus those that remain dormant.

Meet a TNC Animal Ambassador and join a Tenafly Nature Center Environmental Educator for a winter walk to learn which native animals are out and about even in the colder season.
