Astrid Krallisch is a dynamic jazz pianist and composer based in New York, originally from Toronto, Canada.Astrid is known for her eclectic musical tastes, drawing influence from jazz, soul, old-school R&B, hip-hop, and reggae. In 2024, she released her debut self-produced album Typewriter, marking a significant milestone as a leader on the project. Prior to that, she showcased her versatility as a sideman on Bernell Jones II’s album Supernov‑a, contributing electric piano to select tracks. Astrid’s artistry is frequently featured in academic and performance settings. Notably, she took part in the MSM Jazz ComboFest, performing piano/keys with ensembles like the “R&B Ensemble” and “Wayne Shorter Reimagined,” highlighting her adaptability across various jazz styles.
