Piano Trio Concert: “Exquisite Contrasts: Haydn & Schubert”

Award-winning musicians ShanRong Tuo, violin; Mark Serkin, cello; and Sharon Niessen, piano will present Exquisite Contrasts: Haydn & Schubert on Sunday, November 15, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Forte Piano Music Company in Paramus.
The recital pairs two masterpieces showcasing the extraordinary emotional range of the piano trio. Haydn’s spirited “Gypsy” Trio, Hob. XV:25 brings elegance, virtuosity, and irresistible rhythmic energy. Its nickname comes from the fiery finale, Rondo all’Ongarese—“Rondo in the Hungarian style.”
The program continues with Schubert’s monumental Piano Trio in E-flat major, D. 929, a deeply expressive work filled with soaring melodies, tender reflection, and dramatic intensity. Tuo, Serkin, and Niessen bring together three international careers. Collectively, they have appeared at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, and the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, as well as at concert halls and festivals throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia.
