Misha Medelenko Trio

Award-winning Ukrainian jazz guitarist, composer and bandleader Misha Mendelenko brings a distinctive voice to contemporary jazz, blending the traditions of bebop and swing with a fresh, modern sensibility.

Born into a musical family in Kyiv, Mendelenko began studying classical guitar at age 14 before pursuing jazz at the R.M. Glier Kyiv Institute of Music. He later founded the Jazz Wave Collective and earned the Grand Prix at the 2016 Vinnytsia International Jazz Competition, along with consecutive second-place honors in the Jazz Kolo Guitar Competition.

Now based in New York and a Sadowsky artist, Mendelenko is known for his expressive improvisation, melodic clarity and sophisticated approach to the guitar.
