Miles for Smiles 5K Run/Walk in Ridgewood

Miles for Smiles will host a 5K Run/Walk on October 25 at the Ridgewood Duck Pond, with proceeds benefiting Tom Coughlin’s Jay Fund, which supports families facing pediatric cancer.

Founded by two Ramapo High School students, Miles for Smiles raised nearly $20,000 in 25 days this past June for the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation. This time, the goal is to raise $31,000 in 31 days in honor of the Jay Fund’s 31st anniversary and #31.

In addition to the 5K, the event will feature family-friendly activities including trick-or-treating, pumpkin painting, snacks, and a chance to meet the organization’s goat mascots, Socks, Boots and Shenanigans.

Community members can support the event by running, sponsoring, donating or volunteering. Those interested in sponsorship opportunities or additional information are encouraged to reach out to the organizers.
