Garden Club of Harrington Park to Present “Tips for a Successful Garden” on February 6th

.

Bergen County Garden Club News:
The Garden Club of Harrington Park will hold its first meeting of 2020 on Thursday, February 6th at 7:30 pm upstairs in the Harrington Park Library, 10 Herring Street, Harrington Park, New Jersey.  Master Gardener Janet Schulz will present Tips for a Successful Garden.

As spring begins to loom, thoughts turn to our gardens — what we can add, change or improve in the coming year.  Janet will discuss various horticultural, design, and growing tips.

Janet was a teacher at the Ridgewood Community School. She retired after 40 years of working in the garden center industry as the wholesale manager of a local garden center. She was the GCNJ District 1 Director from 2009 to 2011, and president of the Wyckoff Area Garden Club from 2007- 2009 and again from 2011- 2013. She is a member of the Tri-State Hosta Society, American Rock Garden Society and the New England Primrose Society.

Janet’s own garden has been listed in The Garden Conservancy’s “Open Days” directory and visited by many garden clubs and plant societies, and was featured in the NY Times NJ section in 2009.

Janet’s ebullient spirit and vast knowledge make her a very popular guest speaker. Her lecture credits include Barnes & Noble, horticultural societies, and many garden clubs.

The program will be followed by a “Q & A” session and refreshments. Ellen King will be the hostess for the evening.

All gardeners, active or armchair, from all towns, are welcome.
