Spring Floral Arrangement Workshop in Harrington Park: Thursday, April 2, at 7:30 pm

Welcome spring by creating a beautiful faux floral arrangement at this Garden Club of Harrington Park workshop on Thursday, April 2, at 7:30 pm. The event will be held at Community Church, 1 Spring Street, Harrington Park, New Jersey.
Gerri Gibney, President of the Garden Club of Harrington Park, will lead a fun “Make-it-and-Take-it” workshop where participants can create their own floral arrangement to bring home. All materials will be provided, but attendees are asked to bring a pruner.
Instead of a set fee, Garden Club members are encouraged to make a donation to help cover the cost of supplies. The fee for non-members is $20. Pre-registration is required to ensure enough materials are available. To reserve a spot, email Gerri at [email protected] by March 26.
“Hair” at Ciccone Theatre in Paramus: April 3-April 11
The Bergen Institute for the Creative Arts and Bergenstages will present the musical “Hair” at the Ciccone Theater in Paramus, April 3 through April 11.
“Hair” won Grammy and Tony awards for its celebration of 1960s counterculture. Set in 1967 during the Vietnam War, the story follows a group of hippies fighting the establishment, dodging the draft and living in New York City. Exploring ideas of identity, community, global responsibility, and peace, “Hair” remains as relevant as ever as it examines what it means to be a young person in a changing world.

Audiences are invited to attend a special post-show audience talk-back immediately following the April 9 performance. Tickets are $18 for general admission, $12 for seniors (age 65+) and $5 for all students.

Northwest Bergen History Coalition History Day: Saturday, April 25, 10:00 am

Step inside some of Bergen County’s most fascinating historic sites during this special History Day event. With one $10 ticket, visitors can tour 12 museums and historic homes across Northwest Bergen County, including The Hermitage in Ho-Ho-Kus, the Mahwah Museum, the John Fell House in Allendale, the Hopper-Goetschius House in Upper Saddle River, Schoolhouse Museum in Ridgewood, the Van Allen House in Oakland, the Old Stone House in Ramsey, the Zabriskie House in Wyckoff, Museum at the Station Glen Rock, Waldwick Museum, Waldwick Signal Tower, and the Wyckoff Barbershop Museum.

Chwame Gischuch: Under the Shad Moon at Historic New Bridge Landing: Sunday, April 26, 1:00 pm-4:30 pm

Historic New Bridge Landing is hosting Chwame Gischuch: Under the Shad Moon featuring live demonstrations, exhibits, and hands-on experiences. The event takes place on Sunday, April 26, 1:00 pm-4:30 pm.
Primitive technologist Steve Adams will present talks on foraging and the material culture of prehistory, with demonstrations including stone tool use, flint knapping, and the working of plant fibers.
Revolutionary War artifacts as well as Native American artifacts from the society’s extensive collection will be on display in the historic 1752 Steuben House.
Additional highlights include a broom-making demonstration at the Westervelt-Thomas Barn and tours of the Campbell-Christie House. Stop by the Jersey Dutch out-kitchen, where historical interpreters will prepare traditional dishes including planked fish and Three Sisters soup, showcasing Indigenous ingredients such as corn, squash, and beans.
Browse the gift shop, and enjoy light refreshments including donuts, cornbread, and lemonade will be available for purchase.

Springfest features 125 exhibitors offering a wide variety of arts, crafts, antiques, collectibles, and gift items.
