Third Annual “Hero 5K” is November 4th at Bergen Community College

BCC Hero 5K: The third annual “Hero 5K”  will be held on Sunday, November 4th at Bergen Community College in Paramus and will support student military veteran scholarships and emergency funds. Bergen Community College enrolls approximately 130 active and retired members of the U.S. military.

Organized by the College’s wellness and exercise science department and veterans committee, the event will take place on a closed course at the College’s 167-acre main campus at 400 Paramus Road, Paramus, New Jersey. Featuring a 9:00 am 5K run – open to those in wheelchairs – and a 10:00 am 1K family fun run for children eight-years-old and under, the first 250 registrants will receive commemorative “desert camo” t-shirts; children will receive capes and face masks of their favorite superheroes. Adults are encouraged to also dress as superheroes. Proceeds from registration fees of $25 for the 5k and $10 for the 1K will provide scholarships and emergency funds for the College’s student veterans. Awards will recognize the top three overall male and female race finishers and best costume.
