The Spoils, written by and starring Jesse Eisenberg, is a dark comedy focusing on Ben, a deeply insecure, unhinged, and entitled NYU film school dropout living off his parents’ money in New York. He destroys the lives of his roommate Kalyan, his former crush Sarah, and her fiancé Ted, while confronting his own failure and jealousy. This play is not for the faint of heart and explores viceral, crude thoughts by the lead character, who says things most would never say or even think; clever, frantic dialogue assumes an irresistible authenticity in this fast moving play.
