Tenafly Pediatrics Implements Measles Immunization Policy

Tenafly Pediatrics Implements Measles immunization Policy: The physicians at Tenafly Pediatrics have always prided themselves on their ability to educate vaccine-hesitant families regarding the clear and proven benefits of vaccines. They fully support and implement the current vaccine schedule endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics. They have not and will never be a medical home for those who refuse vaccines.

In the interest of the safety of its patients, especially during the current measles outbreak in our area, Tenafly Pediatrics is implementing a policy where all patients must be immunized against measles by fifteen months of age. Currently Tenafly Pediatrics administers the vaccine routinely at the twelve-month visit.

They are implementing this policy out of concern for the community they serve and especially for the most vulnerable patients, those too young to be immunized. This vaccine schedule is recommended by both the Center of Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics, and it is simply good medical practice.
