Joe Lovano is a Grammy-winning American jazz saxophonist\, composer\, and producer\, known for his bold and inventive approach to jazz. Born on December 29\, 1952 in Cleveland\, Ohio\, he was raised in a musical family — his father\, tenor sax player Tony “Big T” Lovano\, immersed him in jazz from a young age. Over his career\, Lovano has released dozens of albums as a leader — including 25 records under the venerable Blue Note Records (1991–2016) and\, more recently\, projects on ECM Records.
