The orchestra will also captivate with Rosamunde Overture by Franz Schubert and Dvorak’s Slavonic Dances. Join us for a night of exhilarating music that will set the tone for an extraordinary season! Ms. Schiller\, acclaimed local pianist\, has performed extensively throughout the New York Metropolitan area. Ms. Schiller has collaborated with musicians from the New York Philharmonic in their chamber music series at Merkin Hall\, the Bruno Walter Auditorium amongst many others. She has participated in the summer music festivals of Aspen\, Tanglewood\, and Musicisti Americani in Sulmona\, Italy. She has guest soloed with the Martinu Philharmonic at Carnegie Hall in a performance of the Martinu Double concerto for piano\, timpani and two string orchestras\, recorded and released on Elysium records. Ms. Schiller has recorded a solo cd featuring works by Bach\, Mozart\, Beethoven\, Chopin and Gottschalk. Other solo performances include appearances with the Virtuosi da Camera\, Orchestra Iowa\, the Metropolitan Orchestra\, amongst many others. \nMs. Schiller is a founding member of the Alacorde Piano Trio and is a frequent collaborator with The All Seasons Chamber Players. DESCRIPTION:Mark has performed on Broadway several times\, as well. He performed in ‘FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE’ (1992-1993) based on the music of Louis Jordan. ‘KAT AND THE KINGS’ (1999-2000). This musical explores the joyous sounds that were born out of oppression during the 1950’s in Cape Town\, South Africa; APARTHEID. This is a rollicking rock-‘n’-roll musical. Mark has also added to the exciting musical that showcased music of the same title\, ‘SWING’ (2000-2001). Mark has also appeared in ‘Malcolm X’ (1992)\, Spike Lee’s major motion film. Mark also was the lead alto saxophonist with the Jazz @ Lincoln Center All Stars in the Broadway musical ‘AFTER MIDNIGHT’ (2013-2014). \nMark Gross was also a featured musician on the HBO series ‘Boardwalk Empire’ season 4 (2013). Mark will also appear in the film ‘ANNIE’ (2014)\, to be released December 19\, 2014. Mark credits his prolific sound to the rich appreciation for Gospel music that resounded through his parent’s Baltimore home. Mark’s father was the Pastor of his hometown church Mt. Zion C.O.G.I.C. up until his passing February 1\, 2007. After developing his interests in classical music at the Baltimore School for the Arts\, Mark studied four years at Berklee College of Music and got his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Performance. \nWalk in cover charges will be higher than purchasing ticket online in advance

DESCRIPTION:Get ready to lace up your running shoes for Bergen Community College’s 10th annual Hero 5K on Sunday\, November 2! The event takes place at the college’s main campus\, 400 Paramus Road in Paramus. All proceeds will directly support Bergen military student veteran scholarships\, housing\, tuition\, books\, and emergency needs. \nOrganized by the College’s Wellness and Exercise Science Department\, the Veteran’s Committee and the Bergen Community College Foundation\, the event features three ways to participate: \n\nHero 5K at 8:30 am\nRobert Dyer Kids 1K Fun Run at 9:30 am. Children seven and under are invited to dress as their favorite superhero\, play in a bounch house and receive a medal at the finish line.\nVirtual Hero 5K allows those unable to attend in person to show their support remotely.\n\nThe first 300 registrants will receive a t-shirt and children registered for the 1K will receive a cape for them to customize on race day.
