DESCRIPTION:St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Closter\, New Jersey\, is pleased to announce the return of Tomas Rodriguez\, as part of their “2025-2026 Concert & Lecture Series” on Sunday\, November 2nd\, at 3:00 P.M.  We are delighted Mr. Rodriguez will be introducing his all new album of his original compositions. Mr. Rodriguez\, a New York City based guitarist has developed a unique repertoire that is rooted in his ancestry and guided by the diverse styles of music that have inspired him.  These include the folk music of Galicia\, Spain\, and the music of Venezuelan harp masters.  Informed by this broad palette\, Rodriguez’ own compositions display an engaging groove\, touching harmonies and a mesmerizing exploration of the guitar’s rich background in the music of Africa and the Americas. Born in Washington D.C. of a Spanish father and a mother from the Appalachian region of Virginia\, Rodriguez grew up in New York\, New Jersey and Idaho. As a child he was inspired by his father’s eclectic record collection\, which included Frank Sinatra\, Beethoven\, the Venezuelan harpist Juan Vicente Torrealba and Latin crooner Lucho Gatica.  As a teen\, he learned to play electric guitar by ear from Jimi Hendrix records\, and went on to study classical guitar with Sharon Isbin at the Manhattan School of Music. A dedicated music educator\, Rodriguez runs a unique honors-level guitar program for young people in Brooklyn\, NY\, using African\, Latin\, Flamenco\, Jazz and Classical styles to teach beginners to advanced students.  Previously\, he founded and directed an innovative after-school guitar program at one of New York’s largest Latino social service organizations\, utilizing music from Latin America and Spain to teach basic guitar skills. He is also a registered Suzuki guitar instructor and has also taught at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music.The concert is free to everyone with a $10.00 donation suggested.  A wine and cheese reception follows the concert with an opportunity to meet and greet the artist.  If you have not experienced Tomas in concert\, you are in for a real treat. SUMMARY:A Bronx Tale:  Starring Chazz Palminteri
DESCRIPTION:Bronx-born and raised Chazz Palminteri wrote A Bronx Tale in 1988. The powerful one-man stage play depicted his bruising childhood which included witnessing a gangland killing when he was nine years old. Palminteri plays 18 characters and brings them all to life in this autobiographical production where his friends\, enemies and family come alive on stage. \nHollywood Studios went crazy after seeing it and offered him millions of dollars to turn it into a major movie. There was one catch. They wanted to put a star in the role of Sonny and someone else to write the screenplay. With $200 dollars in the bank…Palminteri said No… he would hold out and wait. He wanted to play Sonny and write the screenplay. Then one night Palminteri walked into his dressing room and sitting there was Robert De Niro who just saw the show.  Robert DeNiro gave Palminteri the chance he was waiting for; and as they say in Hollywood the rest is history. Palminteri wrote the screenplay for the film A Bronx Tale and then most recently wrote the book for the Broadway Musical. It was the first time in history that the same actor wrote the one-man play\, the movie\, and the Broadway Musical and starred in each one. For previous graduates of the PBY 200YTT seeking a 300YTT\, you will receive 100 credits towards your Pure Bliss Yoga 300YTT.
