SUMMARY:Los Lobos & Los Lonely Boys: The Brotherhood Tour
DESCRIPTION:Los Lobos (“La Bamba”) at 50 are quite simply\, one of the tightest\, one of the best\, one of the most prolific bands ever. And\, amazingly\, with the original founding members as the pack the entire time. Unprecedented. As their liner notes put it\, quite simply: “Los Lobos still are David Hidalgo\, Louie Pérez\, Jr.\, Cesar Rosas\, Conrad Lozano\, Steve Berlin.” \nLos Lonely Boys Hailing from San Angelo\, Texas\, the Garzas brothers created their own bluesy “Texican rock & roll” sound and turned it into a global sensation. Their breakthrough came when Willie Nelson’s nephew discovered their demo. Their 2003 debut album\, Los Lonely Boys\, re-released by Epic\, featured the No. 1 hit “Heaven\,” which earned them a Grammy and spent 76 weeks on the Billboard Top 200\, selling over two million copies.

SUMMARY:Wallisch Homestead Flea & Vintage Marketplace
DESCRIPTION:Join us at our newest flea market location on the beautiful grounds of The Wallisch Homestead located in West Milford New Jersey. As a former dairy farm with a rich history\, it offers a glimpse into the community’s agricultural and cultural past. The Homestead features a main house from the 1880s\, along with a stone barn and creamery dating back to the early 1900s. It also boasts a lovely three-acre environmental walking trail that runs alongside Belcher’s Creek\, eventually flowing into Greenwood Lake\, and offers picturesque views of Bearfort Mountain. Owned by the Township of West Milford and the West Milford Board of Education\, this public space is becoming a popular venue for various events. The property is managed by the Friends of Wallisch Homestead\, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and adaptively reusing the Homestead’s buildings and grounds. At this event we envision a diverse array of vendors offering new items\, arts and crafts\, antiques and collectibles\, vintage goods\, furniture\, sports memorabilia\, gently used items\, and much more. In addition to the shopping\, we’ll have food vendors on-site and some light music to create a relaxing atmosphere. We encourage you to bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the lovely grounds. We hope you will join us in this new and exciting marketplace at The Wallisch Homestead! Entry is free. Parking is an optional $5.00 donation (funds from parking go to the restoration projects of the Wallisch Homestead property). We appreciate your generosity. All outdoor markets are subject to change based on the weather. Please check our website\, social media or our phone for the latest updates.

SUMMARY:Women's International Film Festival
DESCRIPTION:Woman in Media – Newark (WIM-N) announces the 17th Annual Women’s International Film Festival (WIFF)\, taking place July 30–31 and August 1 and 6\, 2026\, with virtual screenings on August 7\, 2026. The festival will showcase powerful independent films from around the world that illuminate the experiences of women and explore themes of justice\, identity\, resilience\, environmental stewardship\, and social change. \nFor seventeen years\, the Women’s International Film Festival has provided a platform for emerging and established filmmakers whose work amplifies women’s voices and inspires meaningful dialogue. Through compelling storytelling\, the festival brings together filmmakers\, advocates\, artists\, students\, and community members to examine issues that shape our world while celebrating the creativity and leadership of women. \nAmong this year’s festival highlights are three acclaimed feature documentaries: The Delivery Line: Midwives on the Frontline\, directed by Nance Ackerman\, chronicles the extraordinary courage of Ukrainian midwives who continue delivering babies while navigating the realities of war. The film is a moving testament to resilience\, compassion\, and the unwavering commitment of healthcare workers on the front lines. The Bengali\, directed by Kavery Kaul\, is a deeply personal exploration of identity\, migration\, and belonging.  The Bengali tells the untold story of ties between South Asians and African-Americans in the U.S. In the late nineteenth-century\, men from India arrived in the United States and married African-American women. The men were Muslims; the women were Christian. Together\, they built families in an America that held them all at arm’s length. A Beast Touch the Mountain: Mountain Valley Pipeline and the Fight for Appalachia examines the ongoing struggle of Appalachian communities to protect their land\, water\, and way of life\, highlighting the determination of local women activists confronting one of the nation’s most controversial energy projects. \nThese films exemplify the festival’s commitment to presenting stories that challenge audiences\, foster empathy\, and encourage dialogue about the issues affecting communities around the world. As part of the festival\, Woman in Media – Newark will also honor five extraordinary women whose leadership and service have made a lasting impact on their professions and communities. The 2026 Trailblazing Women are: Desiree Hadley\, Newark Mayor’s Office of Film and Television; Rev. Eyesha Marable\, Assistant Vice President of Community Engagement  at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center; Elizabeth Parchment\, New Jersey Motion Picture & Television Commission; Theresa Perry Lewis\, Educator\, producer/director; Diane Raver\, founder\, Garden State Film Festival. Each honoree embodies the spirit of courage\, innovation\, and service that the Women’s International Film Festival seeks to celebrate. “Our festival is about more than film\,” said Pamela Morgan\, Executive Director of Woman in Media – Newark. “It is about creating a space where stories can build understanding\, inspire action\, and connect communities across cultures. We are equally proud to recognize this year’s Trailblazing Women\, whose leadership continues to strengthen our communities and inspire future generations.” \nSince its founding\, the Women’s International Film Festival has remained committed to making independent cinema accessible to everyone. Festival events are designed to encourage community participation\, elevate underrepresented voices\, and celebrate the transformative power of storytelling. Admission is free and open to the public\, reflecting Woman in Media – Newark’s commitment to ensuring that these important stories are available to all. SUMMARY:Ugly Kid Joe with Special Guests Wheatus and Platinum Moon
DESCRIPTION:Ugly Kid Joe  (a spoof on glam-metal outfit Pretty Boy Floyd) formed in 1989 around vocalist Whitfield Crane\, guitarists Klaus Eichstadt and Dave Fortman\, bassist Cordell Crockett\, and drummer Mark Davis.\n \n The group’s knack for crafting infectious pop-metal with touches of funk and a bratty\, parodic sense of humor was evident on their debut single\, “Everything About You\,” which went Top Ten and helped their EP As Ugly as They Wanna Be become the first short-form LP ever to be certified multi-platinum. \n \nWheatus: It’s been 25 years since the release of “Teenage Dirtbag”\, and somehow Wheatus’ now iconic debut single is arguably the biggest it’s ever been. And to celebrate this milestone\, the band returned to the UK and Ireland in November / December 2025 and played their debut album in its entirety each night. Platinum Moon opens the show!
