The third annual Fort Lee Restaurant Week will take place September 24th through the 30th with appearances by six celebrity chefs. Organized by the Fort Lee Business District Alliance (BDA), this week-long Fort Lee, New Jersey event will feature returning celebrity chefs David Burke and Josh Capon as well as four new faces: Chefs PJ Calapa, Dale Talde, Leah Cohen, and Justin Smillie. All six chefs will participate in the Kick Off Tasting Tour event on September 25th.
Fort Lee’s Town Center will see 47 restaurants showcase their culinary expertise with prix fixe menus and food specials. The participating restaurants will offer promotions featuring local and diverse cuisine. Reservations are highly encouraged. Celebrity Chefs Participating in 2018 Fort Lee Restaurant Week
Chef David Burke is a world-renowned pioneer of American Cuisine and owner of multiple restaurants including Tavern62 and Woodpecker in New York City and the newly opened Drifthouse in Sea Bright, New Jersey. He is best known for his innovative dishes, array of cooking products, and unique culinary techniques.
Chef Josh Capon hosts Spike TV’s Frankenfood and is a six-time champion of the New York Food & Wine Festival’s annual Burger Bash. He owns El Toro Blanco, Bowery Meat Company, and Burger & Barrel Soho in New York City as well as Lure Fishbar with locations in New York City and Miami South Beach.
Chef PJ Calapa, formerly of Michelin-starred Ai Fiori and partner in The Spaniard, is the owner and Executive Chef of Scampi in Manhattan’s Flatiron District. His culinary approach is influenced by the flavors and cuisines of his native Brownsville, Texas with a special focus on handmade pastas and seasonal vegetables.
Chef Dale Talde, alumni of Top Chef, creates innovative flavors influenced by his Filipino heritage. His menus reflect his technique of blending Eastern and Western cuisine and his unique combination of bold flavors. Talde is the owner of multiple restaurants in the New York Metro Area, including TALDE, Rice & Gold, and Massoni.
Chef Leah Cohen, owner and head chef of Pig & Khao NYC, is also a former Top Chef participant. Her intimate, but casual Lower East Side restaurant serves Southeast Asian cuisine influenced by her Filipino upbringing. She focuses creating dishes that combine Asian street food flair with a touch of Western influence.
Chef Justin Smillie uses his love for the outdoors to inspire the dishes he creates for his restaurant, Upland. With locations in New York City and Miami, he uses wild ingredients and his rustic upbringing to guide him in the kitchen. Smillie is also the published author ofSlow Fires: Mastering New Ways to Braise, Roast and Grill.

The Business District Alliance of Fort Lee (BDA) is a non-profit organization, in partnership with the Borough of Fort Lee, to revitalize and promote the Main Street Shopping Corridor. The BDA’s objective is to create a vital community environment where people shop and live and where retailers grow and thrive.
