Who has the best pizza in Bergen County? New Jersey residents are passionate about their pizza. The best local pizza place is always a hotly debated topic in Bergen County, with a fairly long list of well-known local places and occasional newcomers  mentioned. Fortunately, we have  a lot of great options for exceptional pizza of all kinds and local Bergen County pizza restaurants are usually well-represented in most state-wide surveys, polls and competitions.

Who Has the Best Pizza in Bergen County?

In the recent NJ Pizzeria Showdown, Kinchley’s Tavern, the iconic Ramsey landmark, is the only Bergen County restaurant to make the list of top 10 best pizzerias in New Jersey this year. According to celebrity food critic Peter Genovese, Kinchley’s selection has a lot to do with its famous thin crust pizza which Genovese describes as “a saucy, crunchy marvel.”

Kinchley’s was also named the best pizzeria in the May 2018 “Best Pizzeria in Each of N.J.’s 21 Counties” feature with runners up being Lido Restaurant in Hackensack and Vesta Wood-Fired Pizza in East Rutherford.

Never Been to Kinchley’s?

Going on its 81st year, Kinchley’s Tavern offers a rustic, family-friendly setting. There’s a full menu and a very busy bar featuring 10 taps flowing with a rotating selection of seasonal and regional brews. The restaurant is open daily for lunch, dinner and take out. Kinchley’s is located less than five minutes from Route 17 at 586 Franklin Turnpike, Ramsey, New Jersey. It’s hard to miss because there’s a rather large horse on the roof. It’s not a real horse folks.
