It has been nearly three months since Pandora Jewelry opened in the Westfield Garden State Plaza. During that time, the trendy bead and charm company has seen an increase in traffic as it finds its niche in the mega mall.
“As the weeks progress and more and more people hear about us, we get repeat customers and increased traffic,” Pandora assistant manager Jill Corbo said. “We’re growing. Hopefully it will be a good holiday season.”
The Pandora line, which is produced by a Danish company, is available at other jewelry stores but the Garden State Plaza location is the only franchised stand-alone Pandora in the area. It is a subsidiary of Hannoush Jewelers, who are planning to open as many as 20 Pandora locations nationwide.
Pandora specializes in charm bracelets, ranging in price from $50 to $1,050. Silver bracelets start at $50 while a two-tone silver bracelet with a gold clasp costs $230. Gold bracelets start at $1,050. Silver, two-tone and gold necklaces are also available while a new line of leather bracelets [$25 for a single loop, $30 for a double loop] was recently introduced. The double loop bracelet can also serve as a choker.
“We also have a mix and match department where you can create your own earrings,” Corbo said. “It’s a lot of fun and it’s a very interactive process for the customers, who can design their own jewelry. It’s rewarding when you wear that on your wrist and it’s also very sentimental.”
The store also runs a wish-list program, in which a customer can write down what they prefer so that when someone comes in to buy a gift, details regarding what the recipient wants are already available.
