NVE Bank partners with bergenPAC for Bergen County, New Jersey Arts in Education program: As part of its longstanding community outreach commitment, NVE Bank has partnered with the Bergen Performing Arts center to bring live performing arts programs to local schools in Bergen County. Coordinated through bergenPac’s “Arts in Education” program, NVE will sponsor High School Assembly programs throughout 2018 in Englewood, Tenafly, Leonia, Teaneck, Cresskill, Bogota, Bergenfield, New Milford, Westwood and Closter. The programs will offer students the opportunity to interact with live performers, learn about issues that impact youth today and experience live theater in the comfort of their own school.
The program was launched on February 16th with a performance at Dwight Morrow High School by “Hip Hop Connections”, a New York City based Hip Hop group who engage and interact with students while teaching them about the history of Hip-Hop, its many elements and uplifting themes. Dwight Morrow students were brought onstage to improvise rap, learn Hip-Hop rhythms and try their hand at break dancing.
“Supporting arts education on a community level makes complete sense for a community bank like NVE Bank” said NVE President & CEO Robert Rey. “The arts are an essential element of education, just like basic curriculum, and play a critical role in stimulating creativity and developing vital communities”.
