New Jersey Mother’s Day Events: Take the special woman or women in your life out for a real treat this Mother’s Day by visiting a winery as part of the Garden State Wine Growers Association’s (GSWGA) annual “Mother’s Day Wine Trail Weekend,” Saturday and Sunday, May 12-13. Participating wineries will be offering special wine tastings and food pairings, live music, and much more!

DiMatteo Vineyards in Hammonton will have Namaste Mother’s Day Yoga and Wine from 10:00 am-11:00 am followed by light fare and a glass of select wine. Bring a mat. The class is open to men and women of all skill levels. You must be 21 years of age or older to participate.

Four Sisters Winery in Belvidere, Hopewell Valley Vineyards in Pennington, Laurita Winery in New Egypt, Willow Creek Winery in Cape May and Tomasello Winery in Hammonton will all have special Mother’s Day brunch offerings.

On Sunday, May 13, Sharrott Winery in Hammonton will have wine tasting, live music on their patio from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm with Mimic, and a Mother’s Day picnic with two food trucks on site – Top Shelf Mobile Cuisine and Paella on the Porch. Wine tasting is $10 per person and includes six samples of Sharrott wines. There will be live music featuring the Amy Faden Duo on Saturday, May 12 from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm.

White Horse Winery in Hammonton will be offering live music each day and Bellview Winery in Landisville will feature new wines, the sounds of acoustic guitar and specialty platters. There is no fee to attend, just an optional wine tasting fee of $6 per person. Amalthea Cellars in Atco will be open from 11:00 am-6:00 pm and will feature tastings of some of their premier wines. Plagido’s Winery in Hammonton will be open each day for tastings from 11:00 am-5:00 pm.

On Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 pm-5:00 pm, Chestnut Run Farms in Pilesgrove will be pouring free tastings of five wines.  Monroeville Winery & Vineyard in Monroeville will have wine tasting at $10 per person. The tasting includes seven samples and a souvenir glass. Reservations are required for groups of six or more.

Working Dog Winery in East Windsor is offering free admission on Saturday, May 12 featuring entertainment from the band Williamsboy and food from the Gyros to Go food truck. On Sunday, May 13 there will be a $10 admission and includes a continental breakfast, the band Spoondrift and Jersey Devil BBQ food truck. Admission is $5 after 1:00 pm. At nearby Princeton, Terhune Orchards & Vineyard will celebrate with free wine tastings for moms. They will also have special samplings from their bakery.  Iron Plow Vineyards in Columbus will offer wine tasting, live music and fire pits, and sweet treats by local baker, The Farmer’s Daughter.

In Cape May, Hawk Haven Vineyard & Winery wine tasting bar is open from 11:00 am-6:00 pm and, of course, mom’s tasting is complimentary. Moms: If you can’t get the kids to bring you, just show us a picture of your darling children (no matter how young or old) to get your free wine tasting. Jessie Creek Winery in Cape May will have a Mother’s Day buffet and local entertainer Anj Granieri from 1:00-5:00 pm.

Brook Hollow Winery in Columbia will be open from 12:00 pm-6:00 pm with regular wine tastings at $10/person and live music between 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm. A special Mother’s Day Package is available on Saturday, May 12th and Sunday May 13. The package includes a complete wine tasting, a custom etched Brook Hollow Winery wine glass, and wine bottle of her choice with custom label with personalized message. Packages are $29.99 and must be purchase in advance.

Villa Milagro Vineyards in Finesville will celebrate “Dia de las Madres” with a delicacy native to Mexico – chocolate.   They will honor your “mamacita” with a long stem chocolate rose.  In addition to old-world style wines, you will also enjoy tastes of their romantic chocolate-infused wine, Beseme (“kiss me” in Spanish).  The price is $10 per person and includes wine tasting, gift glass and chocolate gift for mom.

Valenzano Winery in Shamong will host their annual Mother’s Day Picnic. General admission is $15, and $10 for children 14 and under. Enjoy great entertainment, wine tasting, food trucks and crafters.  This event sells out every year so get your tickets early.  There will be a large selection of food trucks and crafters along with newly released wines available for sampling. On Sunday, May 13 from 2:00 pm-5:00 pm, DiBella Winery in Woolwich Township will offer wine tasting, souvenir glass, live music performed by Jay Gentile, and David & Sons food truck will be on-site. Tickets are $5 in advance and $8 at the door.

In Monmouth County, 4JGs Winery in Colts Neck will be featuring their wines paired with chocolates. Old York Cellars in Ringoes will be providing free musical entertainment, complimentary chocolate shots for mom, and the option to reserve a Mother’s Day Specialty Tasting with an assortment of wines paired with hand-crafted desserts from Greensleeves Village Bake Shop. Also in Ringoes, Unionville Vineyards will host its annual Spring Wine & Music Festival on Saturday May 12 from 11:30 am-6:00 pm. Enjoy a day of tasting estate-grown wines, six hours of live music, guided tours of the winery and vineyard, and all 89 acres of their preserved farm property. Guests can purchase lunch or an early dinner from four gourmet food trucks, or from several other local artisan food producers who will be sampling and selling during the event.

The Garden State Wine Growers Association’s Mother’s Day Wine Trail Weekend is one of four annual trail weekends that is funded through grants from the New Jersey Wine Industry Council which affords guests a terrific opportunity to visit multiple wineries over the course of a day or the entire weekend. The GSWGA offers a Passport Program, giving visitors the opportunity to collect stamps at each New Jersey winery they visit. When all winery stamps are collected, mail the passport to GSWGA to be entered into a drawing for an annual renowned wine trip giveaway! The trip prize this year will be announced on May 26th on Facebook Live. The GSWGA also has a mobile app version of the Passport available.
