As hot spots come and go, it is rare to find an establishment like Steve’s Sizzling Steaks that has not only survived but has thrived for more than 75 years.

The recently opened Two Henrys Restaurant and Clearwater Tavern in Pearl River may be unfamiliar to Bergen County residents. But we found that the short drive from northern Bergen County was well worthwhile. This is a great spot.
Two Henrys is actually located within the Hilton Pearl River, an imposing area landmark on Veterans Memorial Drive. The dining room is lovely, with views of the surrounding Blue Hill Golf Course. The atmosphere is contemporary and the room is spacious yet comfortable.
The moderately priced menu at Two Henrys is varied with something that’s sure to appeal to everyone in your dining party, from the basic burger to more eclectic fare.
For openers, we had the roasted Prince Edward Island mussels which were served in a mixture of tomato, garlic and onion served with bread. We also tried the Mediterranean thin-crust pizza topped with feta and mozzarella cheese, spinach, kalamata olives and grape tomatoes. This is apparently a house favorite and we can see why. The roasted beet salad with duck confit was outstanding.
We were delighted with our entrees. We enjoyed the pan-seared scallops with pancetta, arugula and basmati rice and the coriander-crusted petite filet mignon served with sautéed spinach and sweet potato fries. Don’t be mislead by the word “petite”, the portions are generous.
Chocolate brownie pudding served with vanilla ice cream and kahlua sauce rounded out an excellent meal. The service from the attentive and charming staff was excellent.
Two Henrys is the type of dining experience you’re always hoping for but seldom realize.Definitly check it out.
