Morton's Hackensack To Host Glenlivet Scotch Tasting

Tartan Day officially takes place in April, but Morton's The Steakhouse in Hackensack will help those with a taste for all things Scottish to celebrate next week. On Monday, March 8 from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM, Morton's will host the Glenlivet Ambassador who will lead participants through a proper tasting of four of Glenlivet's critically acclaimed single malts whiskies. The whiskies will be paired with selections from Morton's classic hors d'oeuvres menu.

Whether you're new to single malt or an experienced connoisseur, this tasting will be appropriate for all knowledge levels. The cost is $49 per guest Inclusive of tax and gratuity. The Scotches to be served include:
The Glenlivet 12 Year Old
The Glenlivet 15 Year Old
The Glenlivet 16 Year Old
The Glenlivet 18 Year Old

The Morton's hors d'oeuvres to be served include:
Smoked Salmon Pinwheels
Sliced Tenderloin on Crostini with Whipped Horseradish
Broiled Sea Scallops with Apricot Chutney
Petite Filet Mignon Sandwiches with Mustard Mayonnaise

Tartan Day commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath in 1320 which asserted Scotland's sovereignty over English territorial claims and was an influential factor on the American Declaration of Independence. National Tartan Day was officially declared by the U.S. Senate in 1998. Glenlivet, founded in 1824 by George Smith, comes from the remote Highlands of Scotland where it is still made today with spring water in copper stills and oak casks.
