"Come and feed your soul."
So reads the invitation featured prominently on the website for Frank's...
When Harold, former operator of the legendary Claremont Diner and the world-famous New York City Carnegie Deli, combined the best of these two menus to create a new Bergen County restaurant, he produced something special that the South Bergen area lacked; a real New York style deli and restaurant.
If you're in the mood for a great hot pastrami or corned beef sandwich, with a scoop of chopped liver or whitefish salad on the side, then Harold's New York Deli & Restaurant is your place.
Conveniently located off of Routes 17 and 3, at 10 Polito Avenue in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, Harold's does a brisk business, with companies from the Meadowlands region flocking to the deli for breakfast and lunch, while locals provide a steady stream of dinner and lounge business.
The portions at Harold's are huge and the restaurant encourages sharing. Harold's claims to have the world's largest pickle bar. The restaurant also features a lounge that offers beer and wine. The children's menu includes grilled mini-burgers, fried clams and even peanut butter and jelly.
Harold's also offers a menu for the health-conscience which includes grilled chicken breast, sliced white meat turkey and other healthier options. But it's the sandwich menu, featuring roast brisket of beef, New York corned beef, beef tongue and the popular hot pastrami, that brings in the crowds. They make a nice sandwich!
Harold's New York Deli & Restaurant is open Monday-Saturday from 6:30 am-11:00 pm and Sunday from 7:00 am-9:00 pm. Lounge hours are Monday-Thursday from 11:00 am-midnight, Friday and Saturday from 11:00 am-1:00 am, and Sunday from noon-10:00 pm.
