Bergen County 2011 Household Hazardous Waste Collections

The Bergen County Utilities Authority will be conducting Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collections through the rest of 2011. The events are free for Bergen County residents (proper ID is required).

All collection sites open (rain or shine) at 9:00 am and close promptly at 3:00 pm. Acceptable materials include: aerosol cans, anti-freeze, rechargeable batteries, mercury switches, propane gas cylinders, used motor oil, paints and varnishes, used oil filters, fluorescent light bulbs and insecticides.

Unacceptable materials for HHW collections include: alkaline batteries, medical waste, computers, electronics, tires, pressure-treated lumber, radioactive material, explosives and unlabeled waste containers.

Bergen Community College - 400 Paramus Road, Paramus (entry via Paramus Road only) Sunday June 12th & Sunday, October 16th

Bergen County Campgaw Mountain Reservation - 200 Campgaw Road, Mahwah Saturday, May 14th Saturday, September 10th Saturday, November 19th

Bergen County Utilities Authority (BCUA )- Moonachie-Foot of Empire Blvd. Saturday, July 16th
