The Footprints in the Sand Foundation will be holding their first annual Walk-A-Thon on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the Ridgewood Duck Pond in Ridgewood, New Jersey. The event begins at 8:45 am. All ages are welcome. 

The foundation will be hosting a free celebration after the walk with music, Daisy D. Dots & The Smile Factory Clowns and food donated by Davey's Locker of Montvale.

The Montvale-based foundation is inviting the public to consider supporting the cause by organizing a team, walking as an individual, making a donation, volunteering at the event, or sponsoring the event. The following participation and sponsorship options are available:

Captain a Walk-A-Thon Team- Team captains recruit at least 10 friends, co-workers, relatives or neighbors, each of whom raises at least $25 (from donations as small as $10) to walk together, so that each team will raise a minimum of $250 (or more!). Teams will compete for prizes in several categories including: most members, most funds raised, most creative, and most spirited. There is no fee to register a team.

Walk As An Individual- To reach our goal, we ask that each individual participant finds 10 sponsors or makes a $25 minimum donation to the Footprints in the Sand Foundation. Individuals will compete for prizes in several categories including: most funds raised, most spirited & shortest time. Please have all checks made payable to The Footprints in the Sand Foundation and add Walk-A-Thon in the memo line. ** To participate in the walk as an individual or a team you must complete and submit the registration form and the pledge sheet both of which are available on the Foundation website. Donate to the Cause -If you are unable to participate please consider making a donation to this very local cause. The Foundation requires constant funding to continue to help local families in need who are struggling with illness or who have experienced a recent death. Volunteer at the Event- Volunteers are being recruited for various positions for the day of the event, if you are interested please email Casey DeZorett at Casey@footprintsfoundation.org. 

Sponsor the Event- Sponsors will be listed on all printed materials, registration forms, press releases, web pages, t-shirts, on-site event banners, and event programs. Currently, three levels of sponsorship are available:

• $500 Level - Includes invitation for your company to set-up a booth to distribute materials, invitation for your company to participate in the walk (up to 10 participants) and your company name listed on any flyers, signage, pre- and post-event press releases and promotional materials.

• $250 Level - Includes invitation for your company to participate in walk (up to 4 participants) and includes your company name to be listed on any flyers, signage, pre- and post-event press releases and promotional materials.

• $150 Level - Includes your company name to be listed on any flyers, signage, pre- and post-event press releases and promotional materials.
