A&P Family of Supermarkets Register Fundraiser

The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, Inc. (A&P) (NYSE: GAP) and Broadway's hit musical Rock of Ages have teamed up for a register fundraiser supporting Children's Miracle Network (CMN).

Through July 24, 2010, the A&P family of supermarkets, including A&P, The Food Emporium, Waldbaum's, SuperFresh, Pathmark and Food Basics, will be inviting shoppers at the register to donate to Children's Miracle Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals. Each participating shopper who donates will be rewarded for their generosity with an exclusive coupon to receive $30 off a full priced ticket to see Rock of Ages.

Recently, several cast and crew members of Rock of Ages appeared at The Food Emporium, along with CMN executives and A&P representatives to kick-off the fundraising partnership. At the event, the cast and crew of Rock of Ages presented an $11,000 check to support CMN. "We are very excited to team-up with the outstanding cast and crew of Rock of Ages for this fundraiser benefiting Children's Miracle Network," said Ron Marshall, President and CEO, The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company.
