The League of Women Voters of Northern Valley (LWVNV) in conjunction with the Northern New Jersey Community Foundation will present an educational forum, Charter Schools, Choice and the Future of Public Education, on Wednesday, November 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Englewood Hospital & Medical Center’s auditorium located at 350 Engle Street in Englewood. The forum is part of the LWVNV’s participation in a nationwide League of Women Voters’ study of the "The Role of the Federal Government in Public Education". Stan Karp, Director of the Secondary Reform Project, of the Education Law Center will speak about the various issues surrounding charter schools and their impact upon public education. He will review the history of voucher and charter proposals and address current and pending federal and state issues. An opportunity for questions and discussion will be provided.
