The Matthew Larson Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (IronMatt) is pleased to announce that Phil and Diana Simms will serve as honorary co-chairs for the 4th Annual Dinner & Auction Benefit to be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Cipriani, Wall Street.

Beginning at 6:30 PM, with cocktails, hors’ oeuvres, dinner and dessert, the benefit is taking place in September to coincide with Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Phil Simms stated, "Both Diana and I are looking forward to supporting IronMatt as honorary co-chairs of the annual NYC Dinner and Auction. It is our hope that in doing so, we can help lift the financial burden that so many of these families face, while also helping to raise money that could one day assist in finding a cure. Brain Cancer has affected so many lives and has affected us personally, so we feel privileged to be involved and be a part of IronMatt."

A live and silent auction including trips, golfing packages, jewelry, and much more will take place. Individual tickets are $400.00 and various sponsorship packages with marketing opportunities are available.

Cipriani Wall Street is located at 55 Wall Street in New York City. Cipriani is a New York landmark which has served as the home of the New York Merchants Exchange, the New York Stock Exchange, the United States Customs House and the headquarters of the National City Bank.

“We are grateful for the help and support of Diana and Phil Simms,” shared Greg Larson, event co-chair and father of Matthew Larson. “Our families are joining together after both experiencing the personal loss of a loved one as a result of brain cancer. This benefit is successful due to the commitment of caring people and businesses. To ensure that all children can grow up to be a banker, a teacher, or even an NFL quarterback, we need the financial support of the community again this September.”

The event serves as the largest annual fundraiser for IronMatt. In addition to funding cutting-edge research to find a cure for pediatric brain tumors, the foundation also supports investigators looking into ways to lessen the negative long-term effects that treatment including surgery, chemotherapy and radiation have on a child’s growing brain. A special family assistance program provides financial support to qualified families who have a child undergoing treatment.
