Everyone is welcome on Friday, February 17th and Sunday, February 19th to join the Bergen County Audubon Society for the annual Great Backyard Bird Count.

The February 17th event will take place at DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst from 10:00 am-11:30 am. During the 90 minute walk around the park, you'll keep track of the number of species you see as well as the totals for each of those species, and send them into the event organizers, Audubon and the Cornell Lab or Ornithology.

The February 19th event will take place at the Teaneck Creek Conservancy at 9:30 am.

These free family-friendly events are sponsored by the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission and Bergen County Audubon Society. Check meadowblog.net for last-minute weather updates. You will need to sign a standard liability release that is good for NJMC/BCAS events throughout the year.
