Jamie Baum Septet presents Compositions Inspired by South Asian Traditions

Former State Department Jazz Ambassador Jamie Baum and her internationally acclaimed septet celebrate 11 years together with versatility, spirit and superb musicianship.

In this Puffin Cultural Forum concert, Jamie (flutes), NYC’s jazz scene musician Ron Horton (trumpet), in-demand Doug Yates (alto sax/bass clarinet), Pakistani-American Rez Abbasi (guitar and sitar guitar), jazzconnect.com competition winner George Colligan (piano), award-winning Johannes Weidenmueller (bass), and multi-recording artist Jeff Hirshfield (drums), present compelling new compositions blending east and west inspired by Jamie’s post 9/11 trip to South Asia, where she explored Sufi Muslim Qawwali and other traditional music.

The concert will be held on Saturday, December 11 at 8;00 pm.

A $10.00 donation is suggested and reservations are recommended: tix@puffinfoundation.org.

The Puffin Cultural Center is located at 20 Puffin Way (formerly East Oakdene Avenue, off Teaneck Rd.) in Teaneck, New Jersey.
