Bergen County Executive Dennis McNerney today announced that the families of military personnel who are currently on active duty may be admitted at no charge to certain Bergen County Parks in which there is an admittance fee.
“In these tough economic times, allowing the families of the service men and women who are on the front lines in the war against terror to visit and enjoy Bergen County parks for free is the least we can do to say thank you,” said McNerney.
Entrance fees will be waived for the families of military personnel who are on active duty at the following parks:
• Darlington Lake at Darlington County Park, Mahwah
• Bergen County Zoo (including the merry-go-round and train) Van Saun Park, Paramus
Family members who wish to visit these facilities at no charge are required to present their military ID card, which is issued to eligible dependents.
