Jimmy Macagna and Lou Cibischino, proprietors of the Bicycle Club in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, will host an exclusive VIP cocktail reception and dance party on Friday, August 6, 2010 to support MarbleJam Kids and welcome Joey Travolta and his crew of filmmakers to Englewood Cliffs.
The Joey Travolta Short Film Camp being hosted by Saint Peter’s College at the Englewood Cliffs Campus provides kids and teens with Autism and related disabilities the opportunity to learn the art of film making in an inclusive program under the direction of Joey and his professional film crew. Campers create a 30 -minute short film and public service announcement on Autism Awareness for the state of New Jersey and elsewhere.
A native of Englewood, NJ, Joey Travolta, older brother to John Travolta, has dedicated his life as a director and special educator to provide inclusion camp opportunities to children with Autism and related developmental disabilities. The highly acclaimed inclusion film camp is being produced by MarbleJam Kids, a non-profit charity dedicated to bringing creative arts enrichment to individuals with autism. The organization has raised funds to supplement the cost of the camp to a reduced rate for all campers. The camp gives those with and without autism spectrum disorders, a co-creative learning experience that allows each participant to understand the elements of teamwork and cooperation while creating powerful immediate results.
Mr. Macagna and Mr. Cibischino are donating all proceeds of the evening to support MarbleJam Kids and the ‘Send a Kid to Camp Campaign.’ “We need more opportunities that include kids with disabilities so we are happy to help out,” says Mr. Macagna. Spokesperson for MarbleJam Kids, Ms. Joumana Kidd will give opening remarks at this event.
The evening commences at 7:30 pm. Donation of 35.00 per person with advance registration required. Tickets may be purchased on-line at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/116619 Space is limited.
