Bergen County Celebrates Art in the Park

Bergen County Executive Dennis McNerney invites the public to attend the 46th Annual, Bergen County Art in the Park Show and Concert. This is a free show sponsored by the Bergen County Department of Parks, Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs, with funds made possible in part by the NJ State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.

WHEN: Saturday, September 25, 2010 (Rain date Sunday, September 26, 2010 11:00 am- 4:00 pm WHERE: Van Saun County Park 216 Forest Avenue Parking Lot #4 Paramus, New Jersey 

“The annual Art in the Park show always proves to be a fun-filled day for people of all ages,” said McNerney. “I invite families to enjoy an afternoon in beautiful Van Saun County Park while enjoying the work of some of North Jersey’s finest artists.” More than 100 adult visual artists will be featured in this exhibition representing the exciting wide scope of cultural diversity found within northern New Jersey.

The show is judged in five categories:

Acrylics/Oils; Drawings/Prints/Pastels

Mixed Media

Watercolors

Photography.

This is a juried show with cash prizes:

1ST Place-$125

2nd Place-$100

3rd Place-$75

Best in Show-$500

Musical entertainment will be provided by the Lauren Hooker Quartet with the highly acclaimed jazz vocals of Lauren Hooker. Bergen County is proud to claim Lauren as a resident, as she is a consummate musician known throughout the New York metropolitan area. Ms. Hooker has enjoyed much acclaim with her last CD “Right Where I Belong” and is now releasing her follow up recording. The group will perform from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm with breaks. Please feel free to bring folding chairs to relax while enjoying the band performance.
