Network to Donate $30,000 in Funds to Tri-State Area Youth Baseball Leagues

SNY, the official television home of the New York Mets, New York Jets and Big East Conference, today announced the official launch of its new youth baseball initiative entitled Play Ball! presented by Sports Authority. Through this new charitable endeavor, SNY will distribute $30,000 to deserving youth baseball leagues – players ages 6-12 – in the Tri-State area to use for the purchase of player equipment and uniforms, field maintenance and renovations as well as other annual operating expenses such as umpire fees.

SNY will also hold a special dedication event at each selected league's home field and will feature the league in a segment during an episode of the network's Emmy-Award winning children's show Kids Clubhouse. Players from the award-winning leagues will also be invited to a Mets game at Citi Field and recognized on-air during the television broadcast of the game.
